ST. THERESE FUNERAL MINISTRY

We offer this ministry to our Parish
and welcome everyone willing to help.

St. Therese provides a Funeral Ministry to our parishioners. Funeral Ministry is composed of, but not limited to, the various Guild members belonging to the St. Therese Women's Association.

The Chairperson of the ministry coordinates and assists the family requesting a reception following a Funeral Mass in choosing the type of the reception desired from Coffee and Donuts to a small luncheon.

The chairperson does the appropriate shopping for the selected reception and contacts the person-in-charge of scheduling the different teams in assisting with the reception. Receptions are held in the Parish Social Center (PSC).

There are four different teams for this Ministry.

The first team is the 'set up' team. This team prepares the setting of the individual tables, the food table and the memorial table for the reception.

The 'tray' team prepares the food selection using various Women's Association trays and serving bowls.

The 'serve' team assists with the serving of the food and beverages during the reception.

The 'clean-up' team takes care of the cleaning of the utensil, silverware, serving bowls, etc., and the general appearance of the PSC after the reception. A 'clean-up' monitor overseas this cleaning.

For more information please contact the Chairperson or the Parish Office.
