Dear Knights of Columbus, thank you for all that you do for Saint Therese and for the community at large. We will continue to pray that in these difficult times, all of you will remain courageous for truth and never waiver in your service. We honor you and we thank you for all that you do! And of course, very special thanks also to Polo!
July 27, 2021. Last evening the Knights of Columbus met here at St. Therese with representatives of the four Councils in District Two for the purpose of meeting with their newly elected State Deputy Ray Prom to hear from him the direction that he wants the organization to pursue.
The Order was formed by a parish Priest, Blessed Michael J McGivny to support the parish priests and secure financial protections for Catholic families in the event of the loss of the breadwinner. Ray elaborated on the need for the Knights to assist their pastors in whatever way he can use them in bringing his flock back to the Eucharist.
Tom Burns who is an appointed Deputy for District 2 addressed the four Councils in his District for the purpose of working together as a District on some of the larger programs such as purchasing ultrasound units for Women's prenatal care clinics. Showing an expectant mother the miracle that is being formed in her womb is the greatest deterrent against abortion. He named several other programs the Knights are involved in.
The four Councils in the District are East Multnomah Council 3179 at St. Henry's, St. Therese Council 7828. St. Joseph the Worker Council 13700 and the newest Council 17536 St. Rose of Lima.
